SKILLED awarded of 2 lines palletizing system handling Shrinkwrapped Bundles of flour and American Boxes using the same robot and the same gripper.

The big challenge of this winning solution was to engineer an End Of Arm Tool (EOAT) capable to handle American Boxes and at the same time Shrinkwrapped Bundles without damaging the first one or the second one.

With a particular application mounted directly in to the gripper of the robot it was possible for SKILLED to set 2 different working pressures at the gripper so to avoid damaging on the 2 different products and guaranteeing at the same time a perfect grip.

With the usage of light carbon components it was possible for SKILLED to engineer a very light and compact gripper capable to pass the challenges the project was hiding behind.

Because of very tight space constraints anyway the introduction and removal of the empty and full pallets will continue to be done manually by the operator but also in this case SKILLED gave a prove of the flexibility giving the necessary buffering areas to avoid stopping upstream production lines.

In a single robot cell SKILLED helped the client to reduce the operations costs of the 2 lines and increased a lot the efficiency of the Plant if we just think some products may weight up to 25 kgs !
